Cary Hudson was born 53 years ago at Forrest General Hospital, and hails from Sumrall Mississippi. Today, he takes turns staying in New Orleans and at his cabin on Hayden's Creek in Covington County...it’s the best of both worlds! He is a guitarist with the Piney Woods Players and partner in the Piney Woods Picnic.   he has a teenage daughter, Anna Gayle. He is also a beekeeper with his gal, Jennifer Forbes. He considers himself one lucky guy.   

 

What is your idea of happiness?
Making other people happy with music.

 

What is your greatest fear?
Rats and roaches.

 

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
I’m pretty lazy.

 

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Laziness! Physical and mental.

  

What is your most prized possession?
My 1937 Epiphone archtop guitar.

 

Which talent would you most like to have? 
The ability to know when to keep my mouth shut and when to speak up.

 

What is your favorite quality in a woman?
Good looks, duh!  And smart is sexy.  

 

What is your favorite quality in a man?
Courage. Physical and mental.

 

What do you most value in your friends?
Being there.

 

What is your idea of misery?
A boring job.

 

Who is your favorite fictional hero?
Santiago from the Old Man and the Sea.

 

Who is your hero in real life?
Willie Nelson, Kieth Richards John Lennon, Jimmy Page, Django Reinhardt...my heroes have always been guitarists.

 

What do you hate the most?
Ignorance, especially when it's chosen. 

 

What was the happiest day of your life?
Today!

 

What was the worst day of your life?
I forgot about it... on purpose.

 

What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I cut my yard with a scythe.

Larry Brown, Cormac McCarthy, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, Robert Graves, Juliette Levy, Jack Kerouac, Mark Twain, Edgar Allen Poe, Arthur Rimbaud, Robert Burns, Valentin Tomberg, Woody Guthrie, King David, King Solomon. Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Thomas.

 

Besides the Pine Belt, where is your favorite place to be? 
Mountains...Rockies, Ozarks, Pyrenees, and my favorite, the Appalachian Smokies.

 

How would you like to die?
Happy.

Taking love for granted.

 

If you could have dinner with anyone - dead or alive - who would it be?
My grandparents.

 

What words would people use to describe you?
Depends on who you ask.  When my gal Jennifer was asked on Wheel of Fortune, she replied "He's funny".

Tired, but happy.

Whatever you do, be it great or small, do it right or don't do it at all.

 

What would you eat for your last meal?
