Signature Magazine's Dapper Duos

Style is described as a distinctive appearance or a fashionable elegance. It doesn’t have to mean fancy. With that said, Signature Magazine presents its 2018 class of stylishly-dressed men and women of the Pine Belt. This is the seventh year for this feature, and while you’ll still find 12 individuals being spotlighted, this year we’ve paired them up into duos to make things a little more interesting. You’ll find husbands/wives, best friends, business associates, father/sons and a couple of rock ‘n’ roll superstars – each have his or her own distinctive style, whether dressed for a fancy affair or a family barbecue.

LEEANN ROGERS & EMMA FRUIT
Members of Electric Witch

Family:
LEEANNE: My parents and big sister in Natchez.
EMMA: I grew up in Jackson. My younger sisters and mom live there still. My older brother moved to Texas after graduating from Southern Miss. My dad and my Nana live in Georgia where my Nana grew up.

Describe your style:
EMMA: I’ve always mixed patterns and colors unconventionally.  Once a friend described an outfit I was wearing one day as Lisa Frank meets Nirvana. I lean towards a few bright or colored patterns, but I am influenced by dark, grunge, and rock looks as well. I love a black boot and adding fishnets under a colorful dress.
LEEANN: It really depends on my mood and what role I’m playing. I am an art teacher, lighting designer, waitress and performer; so, my style changes all the time. I definitely pull influences from punk, rock n roll, decades/vintage styles, and avant garde fashion. Day to day I keep it practical, but on the weekend and for performances I get more flamboyant with color, makeup and sparkle.

You are most comfortable wearing:
EMMA: Anything black, but I love wearing dresses.
LEEANN: Jersey cotton. I love it!

Most prized fashion accessory:
EMMA: My cheetah print winter coat
LEEANN: Blue velvet steel boned corset
